In order to preserve the past, we must look towards the future. The youth membership and their trusty steeds are key to the survival of the Lippitt bloodlines.
There is nothing that draws a child or young person more than a horse. It is a special relationship, and with a Lippitt as their horse it becomes a deeper bond. The Lippitt Morgan is intelligent enough to care about how their behavior affects their “person” and make adjustments to accommodate. They enjoy each others company and keep one another out of harm’s way, hard at work or hard at play. The good sense and sound mind of a Lippitt or ½ Lippitt is the perfect match for a horse crazy kid, or one that aspires to greatness via the Nationals or Open Circuit. Many have already done so!
The LC Youth group has proudly tripled its membership over the last 5 years, with members all across the country and an affiliation with the AMHA. Several participated in the 2009-2012 Equine Affaire demonstrations in Springfield, MA. Even more have teamed up with fellow LC members to create an exciting new Lippitt Drill Team. Watch for them in demos at horse shows and other events in the New England region.
We’re working on ideas to build communication and camaraderie across state lines, and want to hear from all of our young members. Ideas are brewing for tie-dye adventures at gatherings like the Lippitt Country Show in August, fund raisers to purchase LC Youth attire, and activities where we can all enjoy our horses.
Here you’ll see the special relationships the Lippitt Youth have with their Lippitt Morgans. Whether it is showing, trail riding or brushing out their favorite Lippitt, it is time well spent.
We hope you enjoy these photos and feel moved to contact one of our Youth leaders to join in the fun.
